I built buckeye treasure back in January 2008 after being in the hobby for several years and really not meeting folks from Ohio. It was also hard to find any information pertaining to Ohio.
I had never built a website before and had no clue what I was doing but my passion for metal detecting drove me to teach myself how to build what I needed. Now we are well on our way with over 200 members, we have live chat and a great forum.
One of the most rewarding things about buckeye treasure forum to me is how many connections have been made from the forum, I have met several Ohio folks and I have made some great friends with people who like to metal detect as much as me.
I also found my love of Minelab after talking to a few people who owned Minelab machines and hunting with them. It didnt take me long to realize I needed to own a Minleab! It didnt take me long after that to realize I wanted to become a dealer. One of the questions I get asked often is if I currently or plan on carrying other brands. My reply is no! I am not a salesman so for me to sell something I have to stand behind it 100%. I truly believe in Minelab products and they make it easy for me to sell. How could I try and sell someone else a machine that I dont believe in?
So now I am a Minelab user and I am a Minelab Dealer. One of the first things I noticed was the lack of information on the interent pertaining to Minelabs, atleast in the setting I enjoy so it was then time to build a Minelab forum. I built www.minelabchat.com just a few short months ago and although growing slowly, it is growing and we are getting some good members.
Whether you buy from me or whoever, Minelabchat.com is open to EVERYONE who owns Minelab or interested in Minelabs. It is a completley free website to share information and help us all grow and learn more about our machines.
